WHO WE ARE

Founded in February 2021 by a group of young Haitian immigrants, Action for Haitian Community Development (AHCD) emerged as a volunteer-based organization responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our mission began with assisting state and local governments in delivering emergency services to vulnerable Haitian communities impacted by social and economic inequalities.

Since its inception, AHCD has grown exponentially, evolving into a community-based nonprofit organization serving Haitian immigrants and other newcomers in the greater Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Additionally, AHCD has expanded its humanitarian work in Haiti, delivering immediate relief and long-term recovery solutions to underserved communities.

AHCD operates in both the United States and Haiti:

  • In the U.S., we support Haitian newcomers and other immigrant communities by providing educational training, leadership development, and community organizing opportunities.

  • In Haiti, we reach disadvantaged children and families, delivering essential services and community-driven relief.
